Conference Programme available here.

The 11th Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence, EPIA'03, will continue in the tradition of previous editions of the conference and will be organized under the auspices of the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA). It will maintain its international character and continue to provide a forum for presenting and discussing research on different aspects of Artificial Intelligence.

To promote motivated discussions among participants, the coming conference will proceed along the lines of the previous edition and be structured as a set of thematic workshops. Besides the parallel sessions corresponding to each workshop, there will be plenary sessions which will include selected presentations from the workshops as well as the invited lectures. Workshop papers of higher quality will be selected for publication in the main volume of the conference proceedings, to be published by Springer-Verlag in the LNAI series. The remaining accepted papers will be published in local proceedings and will have a one-page abstract in the main proceedings.

EPIA'03 will be held in the city of Beja, in the ``Golden Plains'' region of Alentejo, which lies in the south of Portugal and is hosted by the Computer Science Department of University of Évora and the School of Management and Technology of the Beja Polytechnic Institute. Details on each workshop, paper submission, registration and accomodation will be available on the conference site.
