The Computer Science Department (CSD) is an scientific and educational unit of the University of Évora's Science and Technology School with the following missions: teaching, research, and extension activities, as well as specialized consulting services in the area of Informatics and computer science.

The CSD is the responsible for the majority of the lecture units in the "Computer Science Engineering", and "Computer Science" Master, cooperating actively in Informatics and Management, and Mathematics and Computer Science degrees, as well as in the Archives, Libraries and Information Science Master.

The CSD cooperates actively with the I&D center CITI - Research Center of Tecnology Information - in several activities, namely:

• Development of the alinex Operating System.
• Creation of extra-curriculum formation academies.
• Development of cooperation protocols with other institutions/enterprises.
