Getting There

You may check here for a location map. Transportation between Lisbon and Évora may be by car (under 1h30), by coach (see http://www.rede-expressos.pt/) or by train (see http://www.cp.pt/).

By Coach

The trip from Lisbon to Évora takes between 1h30 and 1h45 and costs € 11.50. In Lisbon, the bus terminal is in Sete Rios (near the zoo) and a short drive from the airport.

Below you'll find a summary of the departure times from Lisbon and Évora. See the Rede Expressos site for the full information (only in Portuguese; follow the "Horários e Preços" link). It is a five minute walk from the bus terminal to central Évora.

By Train

There are three trains daily going from Lisbon to Évora and taking around 2h00.

Departures from Lisbon are at 8:10, 14:10, and 18:10, from Gare do Oriente. The trains may also be boarded at the Entrecampos station (10 minutes after the departure from Gare do Oriente) and at the Sete Rios station (4 minutes thereafter). Prices are € 13.00/10.00 for 1st/2nd class.

All of the above train stations are also on the underground network. It is about 1km from Évora train station to the city centre.

By Car

The 130km of road from Lisbon to Évora are motorway almost all the way, only the last 10km being national road.

To get to Évora, you must first cross the Tejo river, taking either the Vasco da Gama or the 25 de Abril bridge. Both bridges will take you to the motorway, the latter directly to the A2 and the former to the A12, which meets the A2 after 35km. You must then follow the A2 until finding the A6 (around the 55 km mark) and stay on this one until the exit marked Évora. Toll price is between € 8.05 and € 8.25.
