Title: The Chatbot Feeling - Towards a Usable Emotional Model for Internet ECAs

Abstract: We present an integrated, embodied conversational agent (ECA) system and highlight some important attributes, e.g. the use of fast emotion generation and humor, that have received little attention in the construction of realistic Internet ECAs. The emotional model builds on R. Plutchik’s geometrical approach. We cover issues that are likely to be of greatest interest for developers of ECAs who are aiming the creation of chatbots for commercial use.
